12 May - 9 September 2018 I'm honoured to have some of my wildlife pictures at the "Art of Animals" summer exhibition in the Lombard Street Gallery 2018. The show compliments Turner Contemporary who are running a major exhibition entitled ‘Animals & Us’ 25th May – 30th September 2018, which has challenged our creative community to reflect on the relationship between humans and animals. The show starts on Saturday 12 May 2018 with 'meet the artist' between 2pm-4pm More information can be had by visiting the Lombard Street Gallery website > I’ve always had a natural affinity with animals and they appear to trust me and relax in my company. I first got into photography and shooting wildlife when I started scuba diving back in the 80’s. It was a way of showing people the wondrous creatures I’d encountered on my many dives. I was given the nickname “the Sharkhunter” by fellow divers because I was always chasing after sharks trying to capture photographs of them. I like to try to understand and capture a beautiful portrait of an animal that hopefully displays its character, rather than just a pleasing but superficial photo. This is why I prefer to process my images in black & white as it is less distracting than colour and focuses the viewer’s attention on the subject. I will be showing some colour work also, but my main theme will be images in black & white. Some of the photographs I will be exhibiting are in this post. How to find the gallery :Some pictures from my client photo shoot at Lombard St Gallery.

I got rather wet taking these in the heavy surf as the waves washed over the top of my wellington boots filling them with water, not very pleasant. The wind and big waves also making it very hard to keep my tripod still, so was I was quite pleased with the images I got especially considering the conditions. The things one has to do to get the shot. These two new ones will be in the gallery very soon. Lombard Street Gallery Preview event on Saturday 2 December 2017 The preview event was a great success.
Unfortunately I was too bust talking to people that I didn't get a chance to take a photo showing how busy it was, just a snap at the end. Lombard Street Gallery From 2 December 2017 to 28 January 2018
